Favorite Coffee Shops for Writers

This little gem of a coffee shop, hidden in the St. John’s neighborhood, is one of the best in Portland if you’re a writer. The venue has lots of seating so there’s always a place to park your computer, even on busy days. You even have options; like looking out the window towards the lush growth along Willamette Ave, sitting in one of the comfy armchairs in the book nook, or joining a group at one of the big communal tables. They have all the usual coffee and tea selections, and their coffee is not over-roasted or over-brewed. The food selections aren’t very extensive but what they have is always yummy. They make it all themselves, either at this location or their other location. I love the cinnamon rolls or, if you’re in need of something more substantial, try a ham foldover. And best of all, their staff is the friendliest ever. They remember me when I come in and ask about my writing. That’s the best feeling ever. Thanks, Cathedral Coffee Shop! I’ll definitely be back many times.
